Largest Engine Manufacturers

The World of Aviation is dominated only by a limited companies when it comes to manufactured products. One such segment today in the discussion are the Engine Manufacturers. Engine being the most important component of an Aircraft has to perform to the best. So to be the best the best components are to be used in an Engine. There are essentially four companies that are Manufacturing the engines, they all are listed below:-

i) Rolls Royce:- The world famous company that was started as an Engine Manufacturing firm and then expanded its operations to Car Manufacturing, Rolls Royce is a British Company that provides various engines to different range of aircrafts from Boeing 787 to Airbus A 380.

ii) General Electric:- Founded by the Legendary Scientist Thomas Edison, this company started its operations during the time when the aircraft's were still in development. It is now the World's Largest Manufacturer of Jet Engines, the Company supplies engines mostly to Boeing for its various series of aircrafts and has broken some serious World Records from the last couple of Years.

iii) CFM International:- Build as a joint partnership between General Electric and Safran( Company of France), the CFM international Builds engines for some of the popular range of aircraft's like Boeing 737 and Airbus 320 apart fro this it also has its operations in various defense related projects.

iv) Pratt&Whitney:- Its the largest manufacturer of Defense related engines, Pratt& Whitney engines are used in some of the popular defense aircrafts like C-17 Globemaster and also for the Airbus A-380( In partnership with GE).

Apart from Going individual as companies they can also have a partnership agreement between them and can manufacture engines.
