The year 1991 was a huge step for Airbus when it introduced the Airbus A-340. The aircraft was launched to accommodate close to 375 people on board with the range of around 10,000 kms. The aircraft holds a record of the longest aircraft until the introduction of Boeing 747- 8 way back in 2011.
One of the most interesting fact about the aircraft is that it has the same technology as its younger siblings i.e., A- 320 and A- 330. However one of the key differences is its larger passenger carrying capacity. Actually the reason why the aircraft was created so as to rival between the likes of Boeing and MC Donnel Dougles.
The aircraft has comes in 4 variants 200,300,500,600. The size depends on the number i.e., 200 has lesser capacity and more range where as 600 has more capacity and less range.
The aircraft also holds an important record i.e., Longest Haul Flight from Singapore to Newwark, that's previously replaced with the A350 ULR.
