Antonov An-225:- The Heaviest Cargo Aircraft

Human Beings often get Fascinated by the Large Objects present around them, as said by some researchers. We often can't believe our eyes when we see a pretty large object. Yes, it was true in my case as well when the first time I saw this aircraft I couldn't believe that such a larger Object do exist in today's world. But its TRUE, Made by Ukrainian And the Soviet Union in 1988 this heavy object is The Largest Cargo Transporter in the World!!

But do you know, that Its main purpose was to Airlift the Energia Rocket Boosters and Buran Orbiter? Nor Right ,actually its main purpose was to carry the orbiter and it successfully served its purpose, however when the Soviet Union collapsed this aircraft was abandoned. It was again refurbished and its purpose changed to this time "Carry Heavy Cargo" and perhaps that's the reason during the Introduction its called "Very Heavy Strategic Cargo lifter".

And the Specifications are even more fascinating

Range:- 15,400 Kms

Weight:- 2,85,000kgs

And the Maximum Limit for the Cargo is 700 Tonnes, and Yes, that's HUGE!!!. The Aircraft can accommodate almost anything, from Metro Train to Tankers, everything seems small as comparison to its sheer Air frame Size. However there is only 1 Aircraft of its Kind, the second aircraft is currently in development and will help China launch its satellites in Air.
