Tenerife Air Disaster: Crash of the Century

Nothing in this World can be predicted, We live in a World that is vulnerable to many disasters taking place in and around us that can harm the lives of human beings. That fatal day had the passengers known about the event that was waiting for them, they would have never boarded that fatal aircraft.

The day was March 27, 1977, A KLM flight from Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam is scheduled to arrive at Gran Canary Islands, a popular Holiday destination for the tourists many of the passengers were travelling t enjoy the Easter holidays. Also another Aircraft From Los Angles Airport was due to arrive at Gran Canary Island(PAN AM) during the same duration. But, the fate has written a different turn for the airport at Canary Island. There was a small Explosion that was done by the local rebelists. Due to this situation, all the aircraft's get diverted to yet another smaller airport called Los Rodeos.

Now Los Rodeos is already packed with all the diverted aircraft's, and has little room left to allow any more landings, but it still has got to accommodate two more aircraft's both 747's( KLM and PAN AM). After some struggles both the aircraft's get adjusted. Due to the Sheer Size of the 747's, the KLM flight gets a Spot behind the PAN AM flight. 2 Hours pass by but yet there isn't any Information from the other airport.

FINALLY, A GOOD NEWS ARRIVE: The Canary Airport is reopened, and its time for the flights to leave the Los Rodeos airport, as there is only one main Runway at the airports the ATC controllers prepare a chart on how to depart each flights. Now there is Even a Bigger Problem, the Fog starts appearing on the Runway till the time comes for both the aircraft's to depart. THIS is critical Part, understand that there is only one Taxi Way and a Single Runway at the Ros Rodeos Airport, so what the Controllers plan is that they'll use the Main Runway as the taxiway, they would simultaneously move two aircraft's behind one another, by the time one aircraft reaches the end of the runway, the other aircraft will enter the taxiway and wait for further instructions.

So now the Fog starts settling on the runway, the visibility reduces to zero by this time, First in the line is KLM followed by PAN AM, KLM reaches the end of the runway as wait for Further instructions from the ATC however due to some confusion the Pilots think that they have got clearance from ATC to takeoff, so they throttle up the Engines but the PAN AM still couldn't find the Entrance of Taxiway. And Moments after Both the aircraft's collide with each other.

549 People are dead and many Injured. Its Been Regarded as the WORST AVIATION DISASTER OF HISTORY.

There is some level of both the Natural and Human factor involved in this accident.
