With whooping 1634 deliveries from 1995 to present, this aircraft is regarded as the most successful aircraft till date.

It was an Normal afternoon of November 1995, when Boeing created a history by launching the 777 stated to be the most modern aircraft of that time, the 777 has made an Undisputed name in the Aviation Industry, with whooping 1634 deliveries done from the time of launch till date. This aircraft has proved that it doesn't take a double decker to transport 300 passengers from one place to another.
Throughout its long career, the 777 has be developed in 7 different variants with the oldest being the 777-200 and 777-200ER versions and the latest being the 777x.Altogether the 777 has been a overall aircraft for the Boeing( as its available in both Passengers as well as Cargo Variants).
But come 2020, when the Aviation Industry is struggling to operate, with as many has 90% of the aircrafts grounded worldwide and with carriers bleeding huge pileup of cash, its really a hard time for the Aviation Industry and there are no other options available for the Carriers than to downsize their businesses by reducing the pile of older aircrafts from their fleet. On Thursday,14th April, we got the news that Delta is retiring its entire fleet of 18, 777's, there are also other companies who are considering scrapping their older fleets like Singapore.
We can't say of certain the number of aircrafts that will be retiring this year, but its pretty evident that the numbers are going to be huge.
